Unfortunately, we live in a "brittle" society, dependent on services being delivered by government agencies, by utility companies, by wholesale food distributors, by trucking companies, and airlines, and now, more than ever, computer links. If the supply routes of our nation were interrupted even temporarily, most Americans would find themselves in dire circumstances and extreme want. I believe it is prudent to attempt to maintain some level of independence from the brittle system of sustenance which could easily break down as a result of terrorist attacks.

...your book has...good information.... I have often admonished the viewers of our program, that the wise see the disaster ahead and prepare for it.

The author is dealing with a complex and frightening topic. The idea of terrorism and terrorists sends many Americans into denial, anger and apprehension. Becker however, is careful not to use scare tactics or end-of-days scenarios to scare his readers into submission. The author has clearly done a good deal of historical and modern research in the preparation of this manuscript. His thoughts are well thought out and insightful. Many of the items he includes in the various survival kits are things that most people would likely overlook or just plain forget. The use of diagrams and the inclusion of additional sources of information are very useful. The checklists are also great... The author has great ideas and advice,

Emergency personnel cannot be waiting at your doorstep on the eve of disaster. We may have many resources at our disposal, but none is more important than you, the informed and prepared citizen. Your preparation is vital in neutralizing the catastrophic consequences of a WMD attack. That’s why Frank's book should be required reading. By preparing, you increase your chances of survival, facilitate our ability to assist you, and reduce your own stress and anxiety.

You Can Triumph Over Terror, will be a wonderful resource. This is a fearsome topic. To be able to discuss it without wrapping it up in passion and fear is remarkable, but necessary. Passion and fear can immobilize. Triumph takes action. Frank Becker has given us that necessary view. Action is the antidote for fear."

“The inspiration for this exceptional work was September 11. But once Mr. Becker began developing the contents of his book, he quickly expanded to deal with every conceivable disaster, man-made or natural. This book is certain to become a benchmark, one that future authors will be hard pressed to equal. There are no guarantees in life, but following these guidelines—and modifying them to fit the threats you might face in your community—you and your family will radically improve your prospects for survival. My home is within ten miles of a major terrorist military target, and a 60-minute drive from the destructive paths of three major 2004 hurricanes that claimed many lives and caused billions of dollars in damage. I thought I was prepared for those storms, but after reading this brilliant work, I can see how ill prepared I would have been had they come nearer to Tampa. You've made an excellent investment. Use it. Survive!”
